ORLANDO, Fla. – There are thousands of McDonald’s restaurants in the U.S., spanning from coast to coast.
But out of all of those stores, the largest (by square footage, at least) can be found in Central Florida.
The Entertainment McDonald’s at 6875 W. Sand Lake Road in Orlando — dubbed “Epic McD” — spans nearly 20,000 square feet, boasting two whole stories.
While property records show that it was originally opened back in 1976, the store closed in 2015 for major renovations, leading to the Epic McD that now stands in Orlando’s tourist district.
The restaurant is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, making it a convenient place to grab breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Unlike a typical McDonald’s restaurant, though, Epic McD offers plenty of unique features.
For starters, there are plenty of items on the menu that you’re not likely to find at any other location, such as pizza, cheesecake, pasta and omelets.
The expansive lobby provides plenty of seating, including a bar that overlooks the kitchen’s pizza oven.
Visitors can also use the Disney photobooth, though a flight of stairs leads to the second floor, where even more unique features await.
On the second floor, guests are met with an Orlando mural and plenty of additional seating options.
A back area also features the iconic “Mac Tonight” character, which was used in McDonald’s marketing materials in the 1980s.
Continuing on, guests will find themselves in the McDonald’s arcade, where tickets can be earned by playing games and cashed in at a nearby prize corner.
Children can also enjoy the 22-foot-tall PlayPlace, which features slides, tubes, and even an alligator.
