Schools throughout Horizon West stood out in Florida’s recent school report card, with only one Horizon West school falling short of the prestigious “A” grade. Orange County Schools as a district received an A grade, along with nearby Seminole County. Lake and Osceola Counties scored a “B” grade, while Polk County received a “C”.
All Elementary Schools in Horizon West received an “A”. This includes Keenes Crossing, Sunset Park, Bay Lake, Castleview, Independence, Summerlake, Hamlin, Panther Lake, and Water Spring. Sawgrass Bay Elementary in Lake County received a “C”.
Middle Schools also all received an “A”, including Bridgewater, Hamlin, Horizon West, and Water Spring. Nearby, Sunridge received an “A” while Windy Hill in Lake County received a “B”.
Windermere High School is one of the few high schools in the Orlando metro region to receive an “A” rating. Horizon High received a “B”, along with West Orange, Olympia, and East Ridge. Dr. Phillips and Lake Buena Vista received “C”.
Orange County is opening another school in Horizon West, Atwater Bay Elementary School, for the upcoming school year.
